I bought this house for 3 stray cats who need protection from tropical rains and to keep their food dry. They love it! I raised it up so the cats hide underneath, they use the inside and sit on the roof. It was so easy to assemble. I added a layer of polyurethane for extra protection. To decorate, I put big wooden letters on the front that say "Cats" and added a cat siloette. It is so cute!

The actual doghouse is fine. I was expecting a thicker, more sturdy wood, but it works. [...] I recieved it on time, but when it arrived there were holes in the box, and all the corners and edges of the pieces of doghouse were knicked and scrathed. The entire bottom piece of the front panel was completely broken off, so I had to get creative to be able to make the floor boards stay in place. If it was made of more sturdy wood and was shipped better, this would be a great doghouse.

          I have a 95 lb St Bernard who will not go into a normal doghouse due to the size of the door. She doesn't like small openings. This doghouse had a nice big opening that she seems fine going in and out of, there is enough room for her to run around in and be comfy!

          Assembly was very easy and quick - though if you get the doghouse door, put that on before the roof as there is no easy way to put on the door flap after the roof is screwed into place.

          Overall, very happy with this purchase!

          A: Our recommendation on the large house is for dogs up to 95 pounds.

          Q2: What is the thickness of the wood in the walls, the floor and the roof?

          A: The walls are 1" thick.
          The floor is 1/2 " thick.
          The roof is 1 3/4 " thick.

          Q3: What can I do to get my dog to quit chewing on its wooden doghouse?

          A: You can either smear it with some peanut butter in the area where it has been chewing, or buy some "bitter apple" at your local pet store. If anyone has ever told you to use hot or Tabasco sauce, absolutely
