Boasting solid fir wood construction, this house has steps along one side leading up to a rooftop balcony with safety slat rails. Your dog can spend his afternoon on top of the house, patrolling for rabbits and napping in the sun as necessary. If it starts to drizzle or he gets dog-tired, he'll head to the spacious interior area. Weatherproof leg protectors and a raised-floor design resist moisture and ensure that the house stays dry and provides comfortable shelter even in hot, cold, or wet conditions.
With easy-to-follow instructions and all hardware included, this dog house assembles easily with a Phillips screwdriver.

Oh my gosh, my puppy loooves her new house! She just adores being out in the sun all day long, it's a hassle to get her back in, and I feel much better knowing she has this to rest/hide in. Not to mention how easy it was to set up! I'm a nineteen year old girl and it only took me 30-40 minutes at the most. My dog didn't hesitate at the stairs, I was sort of worried about that, but she went right up them to check out the deck!

I was so excited when the (2) dog houses arrived. I LOVE the design (especially the deck). A paid handyman (cost $50) and I set it up and immediately noticed how light-weight the wood was. Throughout the process we joked about how it seemed like "balsa wood" and I was not sure I would set up (and keep) the second one. My Australian Cattle Dog and Siberian Husky took to it right away, however, I could see the roof and floor move when they walked on it (before I placed the order, I measured the dogs and ordered a medium size). After ONE DAY the trim around the opening fell off. Tiny screws (and, yes, STAPLES) were holding the two pieces on... I am SO disappointed as this doghouse seemed ideal for my dogs. I will be calling on Monday to return them both... AND bummed I have to start the doghouse search all over again... On another note, the small doghouse might work for very small, lightweight dogs, (under 10-15 pounds). This is NOT built for medium to large dogs.

Instructions could be clearer. Had to take apart (the floor wouldn't fit). Also when putting on rails you are not told about the screw holes. Had to redo this also. Pays to looks at everything first. I would suggest water sealing it prior to assembly, wish we would have. The steps are very steep, not sure my dog can handle them. A safety rail would be nice also. Otherwise I like it.

Easy to put together, and very cute! Have two small dogs that stay in it, and on it! Only wish there was a two story or side attachment. That would be cool!!

The dog house had two broken sections that I glued and clamped. The wood is incredibly soft and the screws tend to push right through the wood. The dog house is not weather proof. The dog has already chewed a significant part of it (not going to work for the monster). the next plan is to try the indestructible dog house made from a barrel and steel. This is obviously for the non-chewer.

I like the design. The rise/run of the steps are too steep. The wood is weak.
