This dog house is attractive, sturdy, and easy to set up using only a philips screw driver. All you have to do is fasten the walls together, add the roof, and lay the 2 floor panels down. The inside has been treated with cedar oil even though the description says it's made of fir. I left the roof unattached to make it easier to clean; it's heavy enough to stay on without being fastened down. The dog house blends in very well with our white home. We have it under a carport. The large doorway might not allow as much protection from rain if it were in the open, but you should be able to judge that for yourself from the photo. If that is a concern, consider purchasing the plastic doorway cover. As mentioned above, the roof is sturdy and appears to be sealed tightly to protect from leaking. Our 45 lb. dog likes to play Snoopy sometimes, and the roof is strong enough to support her without difficulty. There are spaces between the slats in the floor which will help keep it cooler during the summertime, but I covered it with a carpet remnant for the winter. I also have an electric warmer on the floor that we can plug in when it gets into the 20's. Our dog seems to appreciate that. You can run the cord down through the slats in the floor so you don't have to cut a hole for it.This is a great company to deal with, too. [...] Thank you very much!

Problem with this house is the roof and slant floor which allows for air and possible rain.
My house arrived damaged which required the
use of gorilla super gule and removing screws that were put in much to tight at the door opening. Could use a plastic door guard to
keep the rain out.

What a breeze to put together...but still a sturdy house. So far he doesn't like it, but hopefully that'll change. Cedar is fresh and retained it's smell. I reccommended this to my neighbor to get as well.

Comments about Precision Large Country Club Cabin Dog House:
My dog loves the house. It seems to be a house for milder weather though. It looks great, but I wouldn't leave my dog outside in it for my Michigan winters - the floor is slatted and the walls are not insulated(my dog is an indoor dog that stays out for 4-8 hours at a time). Very, very easy to set up.
