Caps on the legs protect them from weathering and prevent them from sinking. A gable window lets in plenty of natural light and fresh air. I was really excited when I found this house at [...]. Bought it without hesitation for my German Sheppard. We starting putting it together and realized there was no way he would be able to fit in this house. Even though the dimensions were on the box, I inadvertently went by the picture that displays a large dog laying in the house with a lot of room to spare. I think the design/style of the house is attractive. I especially liked how the roof titled open for easy access for cleaning purposes. However, it is better suited for a smaller dog, ie. Beagle.

    Having seen a lot of reviews I was hesitant to buy this, but went ahead anyway. Construction is tricky, and some of the prefab parts had come apart in the box during shipping, but weren't too hard to put back together.

    The instructions need to be studied carefully to be sure to get the assembly just right, but it can be done and the end product is solid. It isn't rock solid, but it's not bad.

    The only other thing to consider is that it isn't that big. Our 75 pound dalmation fits, but I couldn't see a dog much bigger fitting in there comfortably.

    Service and delivery comments:

    Delivery was relatively quick and efficient. Some pre-assembled parts had come apart in shipping but were easily put back together.

    Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

        This product was not made very weather resistant. Visible gaps between boards and roof. Made of very cheap pine and stained inconsistently. Boards on entrance were nailed backwards. I do not recommend this product, especially at the listed price.

            Over all I like the house, but directions use letters and each peice is not labeled. If you are handy with tools and building you will know how to reinforce it. Lots of gaps around floor and walls. Not at all usefully for cold weather, thin walls and the gaps will let in wind and snow. Like that it is off the ground, but needed to put a support in middle of floor, was bowing with my lab and she is small 30 pounds. Roof had to be redone not nailed together right.

            Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
