Description

Your dog will enjoy cuddling up in this sturdy dog house as much as he enjoys relaxing on the comfort of his own covered front porch. Constructed of fir this dog house is well insulated and built to withstand humidity and extreme temperatures. The natural insulating feature of wood is 2 to 5 times higher than any other material use in pet home construction. It's finished in naturally colored stains so it will look great anywhere. The raised base keeps your dog off of the cold or damp ground so he'll stay warmer. A see-through door on the side of the house provides ventilation and helps him keep an eye on his surroundings. Your dog will appreciate that and you'll appreciate how the removable roof and floor panels make it easy to clean. In addition to a raised base, the roofed porch offers shade and protects your pet from rainy days.

With simple instructions and all hardware included, assembly time is approximately 20 minutes with a Phillips screwdriver.

Right now we keep the house on our deck because of the snow on the backyard. I was amazed when we got 8 inches of snow and no snow came in. I purchsed seperately a plastic dog door flap as well for extra protection becauase I live in Illinois. It has not gotten wet once inside. We like to watch our dog sit on it's very own porch and watch the rain and snow fall without getting wet. My dog loved to go in there when she would rather just have time to herself outside yet in her own place she can call her own. We also put a set of dog dishes on the porch because they are protected from the weather as well. We love it and my Dog loves it! I get strangers and neighbors coming by lately asking me where I got it and how cool the design is, and how amazing it is on how far they have come with Dog houses alone. I could not have picked a better house for my dog...and so cost effective!!People thought we paid so much more than we did. My husband says I spoil my dog (ROXY) giving her a home like this. There is NO SUCH THING is what I say! Roxy deserves the Best and she got the best in my eyes.

To beging with. It took forever for them to ship this doghouse. At first they only sent one box (it comes in 2 boxes). The quality of the wood is very poor and has already split in several places while setting it up. It's advertised that the doghouse has a removable roof (this is not true) unless you take out all the screws. I wouldn't recomend that as it's difficult to figure out how to get the roof pieces back on. All in all it's a nice looking doghouse but not of very good quality. I think I got ripped off big time but I'll live with it. I most likely won't be shopping here again. Sorry doghouses.com, you just don't cut it.

Fairly easy assembly. The floor is a little flimsy. My dog is 65lbs and it bows underneath him. I had to shim up the floor by sliding a couple 2x4s underneath. I also had to caulk the roof seams to keep water out and use water sealer on the roof. The heater is junk. you're better off using an electric floor heater. It does NOT heat the entire space.

The materials are better than some, less than others. I suggest a coating of water proofing.

The finish was damp when packed. Foam was stuck to some pieces and had to be scraped off.

Not flexible in design. I needed to change the opening on the porch area to fit the place the house goes. Had to drill holes, etc. Was not that hard.

All in all I would buy again.

The product is super nice. THe smell of finishing was a bit overwhelming but since putting it outside the smell is gone. I cut off the little gate in the front to allow the dog more room to enter the house. THe roof is removable if u take out like ten wood screws. They should make the roof one piece so this can be done more affectively. Overall great product.

I personally spent several nights in the house with my two pups (Adult Lab and Cocker Spaniel). During such times when there was an emergency wind alert, the house kept us all very dry, warm, and protected! It took a few hours to assemble, with an electric drill, but is now such a great asset to our backyard boutique and peace of mind when the pups have to be outside on their own. A+++
