      The wood reeks of wood sealer and when my dog first started checking it out he smelled it and shook his head and snorted and would not go in it.

        We bought this for Samson, our huge Maine Coon Cat who came to us as a stray. All three of our cats are indoor/outdoor; however, if they all decide to stay outside for the night, our other two cats will not allow Samson to come into the garage via the kitty door, where we provide them with heated pet beds for when they are done prowling around and want to sleep. So, we set this house up on our patio so Sam would have a dry place to sleep and added a heated pet bed to keep him warm. So far he seems to like it and has been using it. It's not directly out in the weather, as our patio is covered, so don't know how it would do in the rain. It sure is cute, though, and looks like a little log cabin. We love it and so does Sam! My husband said he was surprised by how easily it went together with just a screw driver.

        Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

            Relatively easy to put together. Do not build in the kitchen and expect to get the large model out the door to the deck. Had to take the roof off to get it outside and re-do the roof once outside. Other than that... no problem. I'm happy with it. Just hope the Elkhound warms up to it.

            Service and delivery comments:

            Service and delivery were fairly fast. Received in a week from CA to MA even with the power outages from the Nor'easter storm 10/29/11.

            Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
