We bought this door to have a spare to the one we purchased before. It does the job by keeping most of the cold and wind out. We use it in conjunction with the Dog House Furnace. I guess because of the difference in temperature between inside and outside the dog house the plastic slats curl somewhat decreasing the effectiveness slightly but not bad. It's much better than what the standard dog house door appears to be as it's thicker and has less openings. At first our Rat Terrier was resistant to go in the house with the door but we got him used to it (two weeks time) well ahead of the cold weather and now it's totally familiar to him. Good product/decent price.

This door is great, heavy enough to keep wind out but not so heavy as to be immovable for the cat.
However, I cannot use it, even though I really like it, because it does not fit my particular doghouse.
If you own/are buying the Petmate Barn Home Dog House Item#: DOS015, be aware that this door will not fit, no matter how clever you try to be in arranging it. I would recommend it for everyone else.
