It's constructed of aluminum in your choice of mill (aluminum) or white finish to match your slider frame, and it has single-pane glass with a vinyl flap and plastic frame, which allows your pet to come and go. The spring-loaded height adjustment has locking thumb screws for easy, secure adjustment. It's an ingenious invention for any home with sliders. Limited lifetime warranty. My girls love it. Once they discovered they could go out by them selfs it was in and out 100 times the first day. You really get what you see. Very well made product. Height adjustment for doggy door portal possible and simple but no pre-existing holes. My existing door slides right up to it but cannot lock to it so I had to put in a security bar. With my exiting door not in the full closed position, air can get in on the back side of the existing door but nearly air tight to the doggy door.
