Our daughter's black lab had knee surgery and we needed some way to get him into our van without injuring any further. He was a little hesitant about it, but after he became acclamated to it, it was great. He likes to ride in the back of my husbands pickup, so when he is recovered this will come in very handy.

Ramp was purchased for an eleven y.o. dog at 80+ pounds to get in and out of SUVs for travelling. On the third day of practice, he got the idea and now goes up and down with no problem. (Hint: start by having your pet walk on the ramp as it's laid flat on the ground.) The ramp has rubber feet on both ends to protect your vehicle, and stays rigid with a large dog on it. Many things I don't like about it: the stops that keep the two telescoping parts together are not at all durable and BROKE on the first day of "real" use... but the ramp is still useable. The nonskid "sandpaper" surface gets scratched and torn with every use, and my dog doesn't have sharp claws. Also, the nonskid walking surface is less than 13 inches wide, a problem for dogs with stocky build. The best I can say is that despite being a cheap piece of[*], the ramp works pretty well... but I will be surprised if it lasts for a year of weekend use.

This ramp is the perfect solution for my dog. He has just had leg surgery, and was unable to jump to get in the car, now he can go for his daily rides.
I also love to bear hunt, so I bought a second one to load my hunting dogs on the truck, so now they don't have to jump up on the tail gate, this works great.....Thanks

The problem I find with this ramp is that my dogs cannot climb up it easily. Their claws slip on the hard surface. I am going to try to find velcro for it...
